Trinity Advances to 3A State Duals Elite 8

On Wednesday night, Trinity High School secured its place in the NCHSAA 3A State Dual Team Elite 8 with two dominant victories in front of its home crowd.
Round 1 Trinity 77 Farmville Central 0
The Bulldogs opened the postseason with a shutout performance, winning every contested match and setting the tone across the lineup.
Round 2 Trinity 74 Heide Trask 6
Trinity followed with another commanding win in the second round. The Bulldogs did not drop a contested match on the mat across both duals. The only points surrendered on the night came via forfeit. In total, Trinity scored 151 team points over two rounds, showcasing depth and consistency throughout the lineup.

106 Jeven Palmeri, 113 Aiden Burkholder, 120 Stephen Cross, 126 Edgar Vasquez, 132 Omega Edge, 138 Trent Walker, 144 Hezekyah Matson, 150 Simeon Hammett, 157 Addam Bernal, 165 Harriss Khan, 175 Anees Khan, 190 Grayson Carroll, 285 Joseph Trahan.
In addition, Trinity’s Omega Edge was honored Wednesday night for earning his 100th career victory.
Trinity will face Ayden Grifton in Round 3 of the 3A State Dual Team Playoffs.
The Bulldogs return to action February 13 and 14 at the Individual Regional Tournament.
State Dual competition will resume February 16 and 17. The state duals quarterfinals, semifinals, and state championship matches will be held at a centrally designated location to minimize travel for participating teams. The official site and schedule will be announced at a later date.
