David Carr Talks Hosting a Free Clinic for NC Wrestlers and Training with World Champ Trent Hidlay

Davidson NC, Prior to Davidson's Dual Today vs Purdue dual, 2x NCAA champ and World Team member David Carr took time to give back to the wrestling community. He ran a free clinic for local kids, showed technique, cracked jokes, and signed autographs and took pictures with anyone who asked. It was simple, genuine, and meant a lot to the young wrestlers who came out.

While he was in North Carolina, Carr also got in work with world champion Trent Hidlay, sharpening his game with one of the world's best. “Trent’s a beast,” Carr said. “I stayed with him for a few days. We trained, hung out, filmed a little. He’s become a good friend.”

Coming off the World Championships, Carr’s focus stays the same.

“Always getting better,” he said. “Learning how to close out matches.”

And through everything, he keeps his faith at the center.

“I’m nothing without Christ,” he said. “He’s my Lord and Savior. Don’t follow me, follow Him.”

At Davidson, Carr focused on giving back sharing technique, connecting with the kids, and bringing good energy to everyone there. Huge thanks to David Carr for taking the time to talk with us.
